Stand:

Don’t forget to visit our booth on the main day on October 17th, where our partner from Aricoma will demonstrate the Gemini Mini Pro – 2-qubit portable NMR quantum computer. You will have the opportunity to conduct experiments on calibrating and characterizing qubits, the fundamental units of information in quantum computers. The hands-on experience will help you to understand qubit properties, learn calibration techniques, and explore characterization methods to determine qubit performance.

About our researchers:

Gilberto Ferreira Borges, PhD. is a researcher specializing in experimental quantum optics, with a focus on quantum communication networks, the development of quantum state sources, and quantum cryptography. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Material Physics from the Federal University of Uberlândia in Brazil and completed his master’s and PhD in Physics at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, where he researched Quantum Optics, Quantum Information, and the fundamental properties of quantum systems. In addition to his research background, Gilberto has experience as a software engineer, working on both frontend and backend web application development. Known for his creativity and passion for intellectual challenges, he thrives in collaborative environments where knowledge sharing is key.

Saeid Salari, PhD. is a postdoctoral researcher at the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) in Bratislava. His current research focuses on quantum photonics at the Research Center for Quantum Information (RCQI) in SAV, where he is involved in the skQCI project. The primary goal of the skQCI project is to implement Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) infrastructure in Slovakia. In 2018, he received his PhD from the University of Guilan in the I.R. Iran. Before concentrating on quantum photonics, he studied nanomaterials and surface sciences during two postdoctoral fellowships in Iran (Isfahan University of Technology) and Slovakia (STU, Trnava).

Younnes Benamara is a PhD student at the RCQI group at Institute of Physics SAS, focusing on the implementation of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD). He completed his studies in France, beginning with a bachelor’s degree in theoretical physics at Montpellier. After a year of pursuing a master’s in theoretical physics in Marseille, Younnes shifted his focus to applied physics and returned to Montpellier, where he earned a master’s degree in Computational Physics. His work bridges theoretical concepts with practical quantum technologies, contributing to advancements in secure communication.
