- fellowQUTE.sk Call
The fellowQUTE program aims to establish globally competitive postdoctoral positions in the quantum technologies field. This call offers financial support to the hosting organizations (Partners of QUTE.sk) employing postdoctoral fellows who are R2 or R3 researchers.
Deadline: October 4, 2024
As a postdoc you will earn:
- access to state-of-the-art research facilities
- a supportive academic community
- an exceptional mentorship program
R2 - R3 researchers
up to 4800 EUR
(super gross)
12 - 36 months
May extend to
a permanent position
Eligibility
Eligible are all applicants at carrier phase R2 (Recognised Researcher), or R3 (Experienced Researcher) working in the field of quantum technologies and applying for a position at partner’s organization of QUTE.sk.
Eligible mentors are R4 researchers at eligible hosting organizations leading relevant research projects.
Remuneration
The fellowship budget covers the fellow’s personal expenses, depending on his/her experience (4000 EUR super gross for R2 researchers and 4800 EUR super gross for R3 researchers). The hosting organization provides necessary research costs (at least 200 EUR/month).
The fellows must have a 100% contract with the hosting organization and cannot have a work contract anywhere else. If this occurs, the costs are considered ineligible and must be returned to QUTE.sk.
Duration
The fellowship is provided for 12-36 months. The fellow’s performance is evaluated after the 10th month of the fellowship, and the continuation after the 12th month is conditioned on the positive result of this interim evaluation. The duration of the fellowship is extended accordingly in case of maternity or parental leave. It is not extended in case of unpaid leave, or sabbatical.
The fellowship must start no later than four months after the application deadline. Successful candidates (fellows) will negotiate the starting date and contract details directly with the hosting organization.
The hosting institution may end the fellowship if the fellow’s performance is deemed insufficient.
Availability
The QUTE.sk Executive Committee will determine the number of fellowships to be awarded based on the quantity and quality of applicants and the availability of financial resources.
The hosting organization can submit a maximum of two applications for this call. Only the last two applications (emails from statutory representatives) will be considered if there are more applications.
Application
To apply, please send an email to application@qute.sk with a subject fellowQUTE. Make sure to submit all required documents in a single email before the deadline. Only documents from the last email sent (before the deadline) will be considered.
Required documents:
- An application containing the full name of the candidate, the name of the host organization, the full name of the researcher in charge (mentor), the email of the mentor, the name of the fellowship project proposal, contact details (email, address), and identifying the carrier phase (R2, or R3).
- A research proposal (at most 3 pages) containing the formulation of research goals and objectives, a time plan, and expected outcomes.
- Curriculum vitae including a list of publications, patents, conference contributions, previous affiliations, research experience, personal scientometrics, pedagogical experiences, projects, and applicant’s role, and three contacts we may ask for recommendation letters from.
- The statutory representative of the hosting organization submits the supporting letter prepared by the mentor (signed both by the mentor and the statutory representative) describing how the proposal fits the organization’s existing research activities. This letter must be submitted directly to application@qute.sk from the official institutional email address of the statutory representative before the submission deadline.
Evaluation process
In the initial round, a selection committee will evaluate the applications. Only the applications that score above the threshold will be invited to an interview. The selection interviews will take place within three weeks of the submission deadline, and decisions will be made within one month of the deadline.
Once the decisions are made, the resulting order will be published on the QUTE.sk website, and all candidates and mentors will be informed.
For more detailed information about the evaluation process and full details regarding the fellowship and its terms, please refer to the fellowQUTE program statute.
