In the past month, the Slovak National Center for Quantum Technologies (QUTE.sk), in collaboration with our partners, successfully conducted three major events aimed at introducing the private sector to the transformative potential of quantum technologies. ISA Talks – With Artificial Intelligence it only begins
November 7, 2024 | Bratislava
Hosted in partnership with Aricoma Slovensko, the ISA Talks brought together industry professionals to explore how quantum computers will reshape industries. Featuring speakers such as Ivan Doboš, Daniel Buchta, and Mario Ziman, the session emphasized the practical capabilities of quantum computing in tackling problems beyond the reach of classical computers. Discussions ranged from the heuristic principles of quantum solutions to their implications for scientific research and technology development.
HPC Conference – Quantum Computers Enhancing Supercomputing
November 14, 2024 | Hotel Devín, Bratislava
The Supercomputer and Slovakia conference, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development, and Informatization, brought together experts from academia, industry, and government to discuss advancements in high-performance computing (HPC). The event showcased Slovakia’s progress in building the supercomputer and its integration into the European HPC ecosystem.
During the conference, Doc. Mgr. Mário Ziman, PhD., presented how quantum computers could complement classical supercomputers. He highlighted their potential to tackle specialized tasks, such as optimization and quantum simulations, enhancing the capabilities of HPC systems in fields like artificial intelligence and materials science. This synergy between quantum and classical computing underscores their potential to push the boundaries of what is achievable with current supercomputing infrastructure.
ITAPA 2024 – The future of Quantum Computing

As part of ITAPA 2024, one of Slovakia’s premier innovation and digitalization conferences, QUTE.sk co-hosted a panel discussion on quantum computing’s role in industry, moderated by Ondrej Macko. Joined by representatives from IBM, Aricoma, and the Ministry of Investment, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic, Mário Ziman debated the future of post-quantum cryptography, the commercial viability of quantum technologies, and the importance of investing in quantum talent development. The session highlighted quantum computing’s applications in artificial intelligence, supercomputing, and digital security, reinforcing its position as a pivotal technology for the coming decade.

Chamber HiTech Day of SOPK – Exploring Quantum Technologies
December 3, 2024 | Gastrocentrum, Trenčín
In collaboration with the Trenčín Regional Chamber of Commerce, INOVIA Innovation Center, and Aricoma, the HiTech Day brought together local businesses and academia to delve into the intersection of quantum physics and industry. Prof. Vladimír Bužek’s keynote on the “Art of Quantum” captivated the audience, followed by presentations by Mario Ziman from QUTE.sk, Ivan Doboš from Aricoma, and Vlastimil Kocián from Innovation Center INOVIA, Žilina. Topics included the current impact of quantum technologies on medicine, material sciences, and precision measurements through quantum sensors, as well as the transformative role of quantum computers in cryptography and cybersecurity.
