We are building an ultra-secure quantum communication network in Slovakia
Quantum encryption is unbreakable and thus ensures the highest possible level of information protection. That is why the European initiative euroQCI was created with the aim of building such a secured quantum communication infrastructure across the European Union, in which Slovakia is also involved. At the Institute of Physics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, we already operate the first European cross-border quantum line between Vienna and Bratislava. This line is intended for researchers to improve the stability and capacity of the transmission and, based on this, to improve the upcoming lines for the quantum internet. Within five years, the Slovak quantum communication infrastructure will be created, which will cover 12 cities and will be built on the existing optical communication infrastructure of the SANET network.
