Strategic vision and the mission of Slovak National Center for Quantum Technologies

image alt >“>The goal of the QUTE.sk National Center is to create optimal conditions to increase Slovakia’s competitiveness and excellence in research and innovation in quantum technologies, which will play a key role in future industrial and security applications. In addition to establishing Slovak research and innovation in quantum technologies, QUTE.sk’s long-term strategic vision is to prepare Slovakia for the quantum industry.</p> <p>The key activities are:</p> <ul> <li>the creation of an educational study program and the establishment of the international <strong>training center eduQUTE</strong>, which has the ambition to become an international training center of European importance</li> <li>the creation of a virtual <strong>institute of quantum technologies iQUTE</strong>, which will bring together individual research teams</li> <li>the construction of <strong>quantum communication infrastructure netQUTE</strong> as part of the European initiative euroQCI and development of <strong>single-photon detector</strong> for the needs of netQUTE.</li> </ul> <p>Only excellent research can compete in international project challenges. QUTE.sk will help to involve individual research teams in excellent international consortia, which will subsequently bring new opportunities and, last but not least, financial resources for further research.</p> <h2 class=Organizational structure

The National Center for Quantum Technologies QUTE.sk has the legal form of an interest association of legal entities (z.z.p.o.), established jointly by the Ministry of Investment and the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic. The administrative seat of the association is at the Institute of Physics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. The National Center has three executive components / working groups divided by type of activity:

  • netQUTE – application activities
  • iQUTE – scientific research activities
  • eduQUTE – educational and awareness-raising activities.
